Ultra-Wideband and Narrowband Switchable, Bi-Functional Metamaterial Absorber Based on Vanadium Dioxide

A switchable ultra-wideband THz absorber based on vanadium dioxide was proposed, which consists of a lowermost gold layer, PMI dielectric and an insulating surface layer. Based the phase transition properties dioxide, switching performance between ultra-broadband narrowband can achieve near-perfect absorption. The constructed model simulated analyzed using finite element analysis. Simulations show that absorption frequency above 90% is 3.8 15.6 when in metallic state. broadband has bandwidth 11.8 THz, insensitive to TE TM polarization, universal incidence angle insensitivity. When state, Q value as high 1111 at 13.89 more excellent than 99%. proposed this paper favorable symmetry properties, wave insensitivity, overall stability, advantages its small size, ultra-widebands narrowbands, elevated values. designed promising applications multifunctional devices, electromagnetic cloaking, optoelectronic switches.
